How to watch French TV in Portugal
When asked how to watch French television in Portugal, the most common answer is to install a satellite dish with a decoder. This is certainly the cheapest solution, but it can be complex to set up and doesn't guarantee access to all channels, including TNT. Others will suggest the use of a IPTV boxBut this solution is both illegal and costly.
For our part, we've been putting these two solutions to one side for about two years now, thanks to the implementation of the European law that allows subscribers to an SVOD service to view it anywhere in Europe, as long as the subscription is paid for with a French bank card (as in our situation).
We opted for Molotov TVan application available on IOS, Android, PC/MAC, and even on connected TVs, allowing you to watch free TV in France. The free offer gives access to 36 DTT channels (M6, TF1, FR2, W9, etc.). To enjoy Molotov TV in Portugal, you'll need to subscribe to the MolotovPLUS package, which costs €3.99. However, please note that the subscription must be paid with a French bank card to be able to watch French TV in Portugal.
Although this solution is not free, it is, in our opinion, the most efficient and reliable. We do, however, recommend that you have a fiber subscription in Portugal to enjoy TV in the best possible conditions. Ultimately, no solution you choose will be entirely free, but this option offers a balance between performance and reliability.
