Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, once again stands out as one of Europe's most expensive cities for apartments. Despite a slight drop in prices, the city remains among the most expensive destinations for apartment rentals, according to data recently published by HousingAnywhere for the first three months of the year.

With an average rent of €1,700, the city ranks ninth among European cities with the most expensive apartment rentals, recording a quarterly increase of 1.5%. However, this value represents a decrease of 21.1% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, prices of rooms for rent also fell, reaching €500, down 12.3% on the previous quarter and 2.9% on the previous year. For studios, the trend remains stable, with an unchanged quarterly rent of €1,050 and a year-on-year decrease of 4.5%.
On the other hand, at PortoWith the exception of studios, all types of accommodation saw price increases. Renting an apartment in Porto can now cost around €1,250, an increase of 4.2% on the previous quarter and the same period last year. Room prices remained stable compared to the previous quarter, at €450, representing an increase of 7.8% year-on-year. For studios, a slight increase of 0.1% was recorded compared to the last quarter of 2023. On an annual basis, a decrease of -1.1% was observed, bringing the average rent for this type of accommodation down to €890.
Despite these variations, Lisbon retains its appeal as a popular apartment rental destination, offering a unique blend of culture, history and quality of life.
