Lisbon: apartment rentals hit record highs

Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, once again stands out as one of Europe's most expensive cities for apartments. Despite a slight drop in prices, the city remains among the most expensive destinations for apartment rentals, according to data recently published by HousingAnywhere for the first three months of the year.

With an average rent of €1,700, the city ranks ninth among European cities with the most expensive apartment rentals, recording a quarterly increase of 1.5%. However, this value represents a decrease of 21.1% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, prices for rooms for rent also fell, reaching €500, down 12.3% on the previous quarter and 2.9% on the previous year. For studios, the trend remains stable, with an unchanged quarterly rent of €1,050 and a year-on-year decrease of 4.5%.

Renting an apartment in Porto can now cost around €1,250, an increase of 4.2% on the previous quarter and the same period last year. On an annual basis, a decrease of -1.1% was observed, bringing the average rent for this type of accommodation down to €890.
